The theatre company Quelli di Grock has always been producing shows for audiences of all ages, touring all over Italy and abroad.
The repertory includes productions that are strongly influenced by the Company's peculiar poetics: the attention to gestures as complementary language to the text is of particular importance and characterises Quelli di Grock's style. Within these,
Chaos, a memorable production of the Company, and a trilogy of shows focused on the actor's figure and its various artistic expressions:
Cinema Cinema,
La clé du chapiteau and
Ze sciò masgoòn (onomatopoeic for
The show must go on). Other plays are based on classic theatre, such as
The taming of the shrew, one of Shakespeare's most popular plays.
During the last years the Company has launched a project dedicated to teenagers and their social and cultural context, with particular attention to problems of adolescence, collaborating in certain cases with sanitary structures and charities. Thanks to the participation of the Association for Bulimia and Anorexia has been realised
Quasi perfetta (Almost perfect) which attained interest and success also among the adult audience in Italy and abroad.
Senzacoda (Without tail, a story about diversity), freely based on "The little mermaid" by Andersen, is able to communicate to teenagers and children the value of accepting the differences and of enhancing the feelings instead of superficial appearances. The new production
Io me ne frego! (The hell I care!), dealing with school bullying, has been realised in collaboration with the local health corporation (Servizio Famiglia Infanzia Età Evolutiva - ASL Città di Milano).
Dedicated to the youngest audience, the Company presents
L'omino del pane e l'omino della mela (The little bread man and the little apple man) and
Data di nascita (Date of Birth), that continue after several seasons to cheer up children with their funny pantomimes. The repertory includes two new productions:
Mappamondi (Globes), which tries to approach the youngest to environment issue, and
Con la testa fra le nuvole (Head in the clouds), an amusing play between dreams and reality.
Quelli di Grock's effort is to realize performances that could possibly please and stimulate its audience, maintaining, at the same time, the Company's style. In fact, the troupe performes more than 150 shows each season at the Teatro Leonardo da Vinci, its Milanese home.
